Passover Wishes From Mayor Wingate

Leadership Messages

Dear Fellow Residents,

At sundown on Saturday, Jewish families here in Harrison Township and around the world will begin their annual celebration of Passover.

Passover celebrates the Exodus, when the Israelites were delivered from slavery in ancient Egypt. It is a story of resilience, hope, and the enduring spirit of freedom, values that resonate deeply with people of all backgrounds.

The traditions of Passover include gathering with loved ones around the Seder table, sharing symbolic foods, and the telling of the story of liberation. These practices serve as a reminder of the importance of justice, compassion, and the pursuit of a better future, timeless lessons that inspire us to care for one another and to build a community rooted in dignity and mutual respect.

Together with my fellow Township Committee Members, Deputy Mayor Lawrence Moore, Committeemen Jeff Jacques, Kevin French, and TJ Coakley, I extend heartfelt wishes for a joyful and meaningful Passover to our Jewish neighbors.

Warm regards,
Mayor Adam Wingate
