Dear Fellow Residents,

On Monday, May 27, our nation observes Memorial Day. This day offers an opportunity to pause and come together in honor of those who gave their lives defending our great country. In Harrison Township, we uphold a Memorial Day tradition by paying tribute to these heroes with a Four-Stop Continuum of Salutes.

I invite you to join the Harrison Township Veterans Commission, led by volunteer Chairman Dennis Clowney, along with Township Committee members, for a commemorative walk. This remembrance includes three stops for moments of reflection and gratitude, concluding with a brief outdoor service at the Richwood United Methodist Church cemetery. The schedule is as follows:

  • 9:00am – Mullica Hill Baptist Church, 18 S Main St, Mullica Hill, NJ
  • 9:15am – Harrison Township Old Town Hall, 62 S Main St, Mullica Hill, NJ (by the Christmas tree)
  • 9:30am – William Wilt Memorial, William Wilt Soccer Complex, 162 Walters Rd, Mullica Hill, NJ
  • 10:00am – Richwood UMC, 104 Richwood Road, Richwood, NJ

Additionally, you can honor a veteran or a current member of our military with an engraved brick along Hero Lane, located at William Wilt Park. For more information click here.

While you and your family enjoy the holiday, please take a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. On behalf of Deputy Mayor Lawrence Moore, Committeewoman Michelle Powell, Committeeman Jeff Jacques, and Committeeman Kevin French, I wish you and your loved ones a happy and safe Memorial Day.

Together for Harrison Township,
Lou Manzo
Your Mayor
