Dear Fellow Residents,
On January 2, we held our annual Reorganization Meeting and welcomed Kevin French to Township Committee. Committeeman French will serve as the Liaison to our Environmental Commission, Clearview High School Board of Education, the Mullica Hill Business Association and the Board of Fire Commissioners. In his remarks, Kevin vowed to “make decisions in the best interest of all our residents, while making Smart Growth and Fiscal Responsibility my main priorities.” We look forward to Kevin’s insight and perspective on Township Committee this coming year.
Lawrence Moore was named Deputy Mayor for 2024 at the meeting and he will serve as the Deputy Public Safety Director and sit on the Finance Committee with me. In addition, Lawrence will be the Liaison to the Recreation Commission and partner with Committeeman Jeff Jacques as Liaisons to Public Property and the Sewer Utility.
In assuming the Deputy Mayor role, Lawrence stated he was “honored and mindful of the increased responsibilities.” He went on to say, “unity is paramount… coming together is crucial… I am dedicated to fostering an environment of cooperation within our Committee and extending that spirit of collaboration to the wider community.” I believe that Lawrence speaks for all of us on that front as we assume our roles as public servants for 2024.
On behalf of Committeewoman Michelle Powell and Committeeman Jeff Jacques, I congratulate Lawrence and Jeff on their new roles as we all look forward to a productive year that benefits Harrison Township.
