Mark Gravinese didn’t just work in Recreation—he lived and breathed it. For many years, Mark dedicated his heart and soul to creating unforgettable experiences for our Harrison Township community.
Mark was the driving force behind so many of our beloved events. He was responsible for organizing the parade down Main Street for Harrison Township Day, bringing creativity and joy to every detail. One year, he even arranged for an elephant to be part of the festivities! Another year, he introduced “Harrison Idol” to our community day, giving local talent a chance to shine.
But perhaps Mark’s greatest legacy is Lights on Main—the magical holiday celebration that has become a treasured tradition for thousands of families. Without Mark’s vision, dedication, and tireless work, this event would never have become what it is today.
Mark never stopped. He was like an Energizer Bunny—always moving, always thinking, always creating. Even after becoming Township Administrator, Mark remained a vital part of Recreation. He was always there to volunteer, share ideas, and support the events he loved so much.
Our Recreation Team is like one big, beautiful family, and Mark was at the heart of it. There are so many fond memories of working alongside him—his infectious enthusiasm, his creative spirit, and his unwavering commitment to making our community better.
We will all treasure our time with Mark. No one could ever take his place.
Thank you, Mark, for everything you gave to Harrison Township. Your legacy lives on in every parade, every celebration, and every smile you helped create. You will be forever missed and forever remembered.
