Each year, New Jersey American Water flushes the pipes in Harrison Township’s water distribution system as part of its essential maintenance program. This process helps ensure high-quality water service.
Flushing will begin the week of April 14 and continue through May 18.
During this time, you may experience temporary changes such as lower water pressure or slight discoloration. Discoloration is normal and not harmful, it occurs when flushing disturbs sediment in the water mains. If your water appears discolored, simply run your cold water tap until it clears.
