Harrison Township is seeking applications for a full-time Township Administrator with strong management, communication and collaboration skills. The ideal candidate will be a team builder who demonstrates sound interpersonal skills, professionalism and integrity.
The Township Administrator reports to the Mayor and Township Committee and is responsible for the proper and efficient administration of the Township’s business affairs, as set forth in Chapter 43, Article V, of the Township Code.
Responsibilities include supervising and coordinating the day-to-day operations of all municipal departments; overseeing the preparation of the annual budget by the Chief Financial Officer and administering budgetary controls; advising the Mayor and Township Committee on policy, personnel and administrative matters; representing the Township in its relationships with other governmental entities; and recommending future municipal plans and programs.
Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of New Jersey’s Local Budget Law, Local Public Contracts Law and matters related to economic and business development. A minimum of three years of municipal management experience is required. A strong background in grants and other alternative funding sources is highly desirable. New Jersey municipal certifications are also considered a strong asset.
The salary range is $70,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience. Harrison Township is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
