Harrison Elementary is preparing for an incredible event that will take place on December 12, 2019. We are being featured as a stop on the Wreaths Across America trip that culminates on December 14. It is a community experience that we are inviting all Veterans and Gold Star Families who reside in Harrison Twp to attend. Wreaths Across America is an organization that makes the commitment each year to remember our fallen U.S. veterans, honor those who serve, and teach children the value of freedom by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery.

Our staff and students are coordinating a unique ceremony to honor the veterans that will stop at our school on their trip to Arlington. The convoy of veterans, wreaths, and volunteers will provide our community with wreaths for our local memorials (William Wilt, 9-11, and Old Town Hall) and Gold Star Families. Students will convey different ways to show our gratitude through performances and signs of remembrance. All veterans within Harrison Twp who attend will receive a gift from our students. We are thankful for our community and all veterans which is why dozens of staff members and hundreds of students are volunteering to coordinate this momentous event for the community.
