Professor Travis Glasson – Presents “Nobody Men”

Join historian Professor Travis Glasson of Temple University for a fascinating exploration of a little-known side of the American Revolution, those who chose neither the patriot nor loyalist cause.
Glasson’s new book, Nobody Men: Neutrality, Loyalties, and Family in the American Revolution, uncovers the experiences of colonists who tried to remain neutral during the conflict. Historians estimate that at least one-third of the colonial population did not fully support either side, yet their stories have largely been absent from traditional narratives of the Revolution.
This engaging lecture will shed light on the American Revolution by focusing on those who tried to stay out of it and the complex choices they faced as an empire fractured and a new nation emerged.
