Mullica Hill Asparagus Festival
May 17 @ 11:30 am - 3:00 pm

The Harrison Township Historical Society’s annual commemoration of America’s first air freight shipment of fresh produce returns on Saturday, May 17, marking 103 years since 1,000 pounds of asparagus were flown from Mullica Hill to Boston aboard a Fokker monoplane.
The festival’s centerpiece event, the “Battle of the Chefs” asparagus tasting competition, brings together five chefs and four bakers and confectioners competing for best recipe honors. This year, a panel of celebrity judges will join the public in selecting the winners. Tasting tickets are $20.
Additional festivities include live music, local vendors, family-friendly activities on the Old Town Hall Museum grounds, and fresh local asparagus for sale. T-shirts and cookbooks will also be available for purchase.
