Memorial Day Remembrance
May 29, 2023 @ 9:00 am
Memorial Day gives Americans an opportunity to remember our fallen heroes from all branches of the military. Approximately 1.3 million service members paid the ultimate price for the welfare of America. Congress passed the Uniform Holiday Act in 1968, and in 1971, Memorial Day was declared a federal holiday, recognized every year on the last Monday of May.
The Harrison Township Veterans Commission will pay tribute to those fallen brothers and sisters with a 4-stop continuum of salutes throughout Harrison Township.
The first three stops will be short followed by a brief outdoor service at the Richwood United Methodist Church cemetery.
- 9:00am – Mullica Hill Baptist Church, 18 S Main St Mullica Hill NJ
- 9:15am – Harrison Township Old Town Hall, 62 S Main St, Mullica Hill, NJ (by the Christmas tree)
- 9:30am – William Wilt Memorial, William Wilt Soccer Complex, 162 Walters Rd, Mullica Hill, NJ
- 10:00am – Richwood UMC, 104 Richwood Road, Richwood, NJ
Many of us live in a country liberated by men and women we do not know. Those war heroes did not get the opportunity to grow old with their country. Let us not forget them.
