April 10 @ 7:00 pm

Join local author JoAnn McLaughlin as she shares insights from her newly released book, Stratton House, which explores the history of this landmark Woolwich Township residence. Built in 1794 by Dr. James Stratton, the home later became the lifelong residence of his son, Charles C. Stratton, who served as New Jersey’s 15th governor from 1845 to 1848. The house, known for its Federal and Georgian architectural styles, is listed on both the National and State Registers of Historic Places.

JoAnn McLaughlin has been the steward of Stratton Hall for over 30 years, preserving its historical integrity while promoting environmental sustainability. A former journalist for The Philadelphia Inquirer, she is also an accomplished fiction writer, known for The Vampires of the Court of Cruelty trilogy and the mystery novel Chasing Ashes. She serves on the Board of the Gloucester County Historical Society, furthering her dedication to historical preservation.

Don’t miss this opportunity to explore the fascinating history of Stratton House through the perspective of its current caretaker and learn about the process of bringing historical stories to life in literature.
