Last Call: Taverns and Temperance – Opening Weekend

The Historical Society’s 2024 Feature Exhibition, “Last Call: Taverns and Temperance”, tells the tales of historic taverns, the temperance movement, local distilleries and wineries, prohibition, and repeal. On display are rare artifacts, images, including some never before seen features recorded narratives and songs.
“Last Call: Taverns and Temperance” opens at the Old Town Hall Museum on April 6th and runs through June 8th (Closed Mother’s Day). The exhibit will be featured again from October 5th – December 7th.
For the opening weekend, a “Temperance Tea Tasting” by the Greenwich Teaburners Tea Company and Silver Feather Farms takes place on Saturday April 6th, 1pm – 4pm.
The opening weekend festivities continue Sunday April 7th, with a free lecture and book signing by Michael Gabriele, author of “Colonial Taverns of New Jersey: Libations, Liberty & Revolution”, from 3pm at Richwood Academy Cultural Center.
