The Recreation Commission creates and coordinates events and activities with the mission to entertain, promote health and education for township’s residents and support commerce for its business community. Our signature event is the Best of Gloucester Lights on Main, which takes place annually the Saturday after Thanksgiving and attracts over 10,000 visitors from around the region. Other family fun events include, Harrison township Day, Movie in the Park, Easter Egg Hunt, Halloween Walk, and many more. In addition, Recreation offers fall, spring and summer activities for adults and children. Recreation events and activities are self-funded through donations, sponsorships and user pay.
The Recreation Commission meets monthly (except July and August) on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm, in the former Municipal Courtroom, unless otherwise noted.
