About Us

The mission of the Economic Development Committee is to foster a dynamic, diverse, and thriving economy in Harrison Township by recommending strategies, policies, and programs that support business retention, expansion, recruitment, and workforce development. The committee is comprised of volunteers from different professional backgrounds and is dedicated to helping your existing or proposed business succeed. Our committee works closely with the Mayor and Council, the Joint Land Use Board, and the Mullica Hill Business Association to help navigate your business through the application process.

Joint Land Use Board (Zoning)

Zoning is administered by the Harrison Township Joint Land Use Board (JLUB). Before signing a lease, contact the Board to confirm requirements and ensure compliance. Verify that your business type is permitted at the proposed location, as a zoning permit may be required for a change of use or a new tenant.

Fire District

You must register your business with the Fire District and pass an annual fire inspection to obtain and maintain your Certificate of Occupancy.

Construction Department

Contact the Construction Department if you plan to renovate, install a wall, or modify electrical or plumbing systems. Permits are required after receiving Zoning approval.
