The Township of Harrison is currently seeking a qualified Certified Tax/Sewer Collector.
Harrison Township has approximately 5,000 tax line items and 3,000 sewer accounts. This position is responsible for the oversight and management of all aspects of the reporting, billing, collection, and enforcement of property taxes, as required by state law and municipal directive. The tax office also handles the billing of numerous PILOT payments and tax abatement programs and will be responsible for the reconciliation of several bank accounts within the department.
The applicant must possess solid interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and be able to interact efficiently with the public, Township officials, and employees. Knowledge of the Edmunds system is required. The applicant must possess a Certified Municipal Tax Collector’s Certificate with at least 3–5 years of Tax Collector experience.
The Township offers a competitive salary of $85,000–$100,000, along with health and dental insurance, pension plan participation, and paid time off, including holidays.
