Dear Fellow Residents,
Last week, Deputy Mayor TJ Coakley announced exciting news about our Revolutionary Roots: America250 initiative, Harrison Township’s community celebration of our nation’s founding 250 years ago.
We’ll kick off the celebration with our Revolutionary Roots: Parade in the Park on Harrison Township Day, June 6. Township families, organizations, and businesses are invited to be part of this special march through Ella Harris Park. The parade begins at approximately 3:00 PM (participants will gather at 2:30 PM) in Harbaugh Village, proceeds to the park, and concludes near the baseball fields on the Route 77 parking lot side of the park – just in time for the start of Harrison Township Day at 4:00 PM. The actual timing will be communicated after the sign-up window closes.
The Parade in the Park promises to be a great way to bring our community together before an evening filled with celebration, fun activities, and hometown pride. Your participation will help make the day truly memorable. Please submit your interest in participating here by May 29, and a Parade Coordinator will contact you with additional details.
In addition, we are introducing the official Harrison Township Revolutionary Roots: America250 t-shirt, now available online. This limited-edition shirt is a great way to show your Harrison Township pride and commemorate this historic milestone. Don’t forget to wear your t-shirt during the parade. Quantities are limited, so order yours today.
Next week, we’ll also launch Revolutionary Roots: Growing a Nation, a feature in Happening in the Hill highlighting defining moments and leaders who helped forge the path to America’s independence.
As Harrison Township celebrates America’s 250th birthday, I invite you to join us, whether you march in the parade, wear your Revolutionary Roots t-shirt with pride, or follow along with our Growing a Nation series. I look forward to celebrating our nation together as a community.
Sincerely,
Adam Wingate
Harrison Township Mayor
