The Rotary Club of Mullica Hill is a non-profit organization that gives back to local and international non-profit organizations. We are a small, but unique, club made up of 11 members and pride ourselves in being an active part of the community. We have been chartered in Mullica Hill since 2002 and are always searching for individuals within our community to assist in our mission of helping others. Please consider joining our team and making a difference in our community. You can find us on Facebook or visit to www.mullicahillrotary.org.
One of the programs we conduct is a dictionary program. Our members go out to local schools and teach the 3rd grade students how to read a dictionary. It is very exciting to see the children’s faces light up when we teach them how to read a dictionary and present them one as a gift. The students enjoy this program and have fun interacting with us. It is heartwarming when we receive a homemade thank you card from the entire class. There are a few students that write about joining our club when they are all grown up. The pictures are adorable!
Throughout the year, our club does local projects and one of our favorites is the annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner. We provide approximately 20 local families in need with Thanksgiving Day food baskets that have everything a family would need for the holiday meal. We have a great partnership with our Clearview High School’s Interact Club who work with us to provide all the canned goods. Our local Shoprite also partners with us to donate the turkeys. Our club is proud to come together and make these baskets for the families in need in our community.
During the Christmas season, our club also provides gifts and food to families in need. We ‘adopt’ families from the Harrison Township Elementary School and provided toys/clothing for children, and gift cards for the guardians to ensure everyone can enjoy the holiday season.
Our club takes advantage of grant writing to petition our District for much needed funds. We have been awarded grants in the past and these funds have become the building blocks to support many the programs we provides. For example, we held a coat drive in conjunction with the Burlington Coat Factory for students going back to school. Burlington Coat Factory was kind enough to donate coats. Their generosity enabled us to use the grant money to fill backpacks with school supplies and gift cards for the local students.
Our club is extraordinary in our mission to help those in need!
We partner with other community organizations to help them in their fundraising events. We have worked closely with Harrison Recreation, American Legion, Boy Scouts and other local organizations to provide assistance and support to their special interests and needs. All of which help with providing a sense of family and positive spirit.
Our club attends multiple community events. One of our favorite events “Lights on Main” where we participate every year by giving out candy canes and brochures about our own organization with the potential to gain new members.
